Washington paralyzed

The United States is enjoying a brief respite after the worst snow storm in nine decades caused chaos across the east coast from West Virginia to New Jersey.
The record dump is believed to have claimed at least two lives and caused hundreds of accidents while many buildings were damaged, informs Euronews.
Road travel came to a virtual standstill. Planes were grounded and a hangar collapsed at Dulles Airport. More than 230,000 homes were without electricity after 24 hours of non-stop snow. And the weathermen say there is more on the way.
About the only thing moving in the capital was the President’s motorcade. Barack Obama jokingly dubbed the blizzard “Snowmaggedon”.
If he was putting a brave face on things then so were others. After the message went out on facebook and twitter hundreds gathered for a snowball fight at DuPont Circle – normally one of Washington’s busiest intersections.
