The fire, which broke out on the Alushta cruise vessel under repairs in Arkhangelsk, has been put down, Arkhangelsk regional emergency situations department spokesman Igor Grigoryev told Itar-Tass.
The fire started at about 10:45 a.m., and 30 people were evacuated. Four were hospitalized with CO2 poisoning and upper respiratory tract burns. Three of them accepted first aid and went one, and one was taken to the intensive care unit, Grigoryev said.
Ten teams of firemen put down the fire at 7:19 p.m. Moscow time. Reasons for the fire are yet unknown. The vessel sustained a lot of damage.
The plant, which belongs to the Sevmash military shipyard in Severodvinsk, started to repair the Alushta in the beginning of this January. The works had been done at 50% by the time the fire started. The ship is 70 meters long and ten meters wide.
