Berlin film festival

The Berlin film festival is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
20 movies are in competition for the top prize, including the works of Roman Polanski and Martin Scorsese, informs Euronews.
Film critic Jay Weissberg said: “There’s a sense of there being films that are going to sit on the border between what is an art film and what is a public film. I think the Berlinale has been good over the years in finding the films that are going to fit in both categories. Films that are going to please both the critics and the audience. It’s a nice balance between the two and that’s a very difficult equilibrium to maintain.”
Organisers are hoping people turn out in large numbers, despite colder than normal temperatures in Berlin.
The event kicks off today and runs until February 21.
