Strike in Belgium

Belgian train drivers have been on strike over working conditions they say could result in a repeat of Monday’s deadly crash near Brussels.
A train driver was among the 18 people killed, informs Euronews.
Reports that one of the two trains involved had run through a red stop light have not been confirmed.
Many passengers appeared to sympathise with the strike, believing that the tragedy should never have happened.
One commuter in Brussels said: “They keep promising ‘it will change, it will change’ but nothing’s being done. That’s Belgium for you, always the same thing: talk, talk, talk but nothing gets done.”
Another man said: “We’re not sure if we’ll be sleeping in Brussels tonight or if we’ll get home. We understand why they’re striking. It’s for our safety and theirs but it’s a shame that it requires people to die before things change.”
The 24-hour strike meant Belgian rail travel was heavily disrupted for a second day, with international lines to Paris and London also affected.
