San Remo Song Festival

It is the song contest that inspired Eurovision!
And, while Italy’s legendary San Remo Music Festival may be dismissed as ‘Trash TV’ by intellectuals, millions of viewers love it, informs Euronews.
This year the contest was won by young singer Valerio Scanu with “Per tutte le volte che.”
Broadcast nightly, live from the Riviera, the contest gives viewers a chance to vote for their favourite acts. But the public choice is not always popular with the musicians and live audience.
Both made their objections loud and clear as the grandson of Italy’s last King made it through to the final with his group and exercised his vocal chords in public.
Blue-blooded Emanuele Filiberto is also a famous presenter on Italian TV.
