Flooding in Spain
Hundreds of people have had to be evacuated from their homes after heavy rains submerged parts of southern Spain. Dozens of roads have been cut off along with rail and air access to several cities in Andalusia. The Guadalquivir river has burst its banks in Cordoba and many parts of the Jaen and Seville provinces are underwater, reports Euronews. “It’s incalculable, right now incalculable. I can’t. In my house, I have lost everything,” said Jose Antonia whose house is in Jaen. The weather has already claimed the lives of a British couple. Christopher Martin and his wife Christine, both in their sixties, died when the roof of the farmhouse they were staying in, at Rubite in Granada collapsed, burying them under two metres of rubble.
