Remembering quake victims

Chile’s President Sebastian Pinera has joined thousands of Chileans marking one month since the devastating 8.8 magnitude earthquake that left hundreds dead.
The newly sworn-in president and hundreds of residents of Concepcion, some 512 kilometres south of Santiago, gathered to mark the exact moment the quake struck, reports Euronews.
Addressing the service Sebastian Pinera said: “That morning of February 27 stays in our memories. It was very hard for many people and especially for those who lost their loved ones. But I am convinced that the best way to remember them and the best way to honour them is by standing together.”
An aftershock with a magnitude of 6.2 rocked Chile on Friday but there were no immediate reports of any further injuries or damage.
Businesses and schools in the northern city of Copiapo were closed as a precaution.
