Healing properties of Sergievsk’s sources were found in Peter the Great times. Historically this water have been used to heal diseases of inner organs and skin. In 1833 the resort was open officially. 
The resort is located at the western slope of Sernovodsk Highland.
One the remarkable places of the resort is Sulfuric Lake: in calcareous dolomite rock there are four sulphurous sources. The lake has original blue color and is not covered with ice in winter.
