Equestrian Tourism in Russia

Mounted trips, or equestrian tourism, have a sanitary influence. The equestrian tourism has been developing for more than 30 years at the traditional horse breeding areas like Altai, Bashkiria, Buryatia, Adygea, Karachay-Cherkessia, Chuvashia, Central Russia (Orlovsky District) and Siberia (Kemerovsky District and Krasnoyarsky District). 

 

This type of active tourism becomes more and more popular, new routes are being added in Podmoskovye, Murmansky and Samarsky districts, submontane areas of Krasnodarsky krai (district).  Most of the routes pass through forest and mountain horse paths, steppe, fields and meadows, gullies and riversides.

Equestrian routes provide for self-service (cooking and horse caring) or work of grooms and cooks.

 

Accommodation is available at tourist centers in winter or at field environment in summer. Touring companies will advise you equestrian tours for the beginners. But some of the mounted trips require good training: you should have a good seat when going to long term tours.

 

One of the most popular equestrian tours is a mounted ride. Short term equestrian trip is an excellent way of training or improving your riding skills not in a riding-hall but in the natural conditions.
