Flight etiquette
There is a general list of flight behavior norms. Some points can seem naïve, but strangely enough, most problems occur because of them. Anyways, each traveler should know these simple rules.
Hand luggage weight is limited, but HWD is not. Don’t take big objects to the salon. For instance, a swollen mattress is light, but will surely cause inconveniences.
Keep your hand luggage in overhead storage compartment. If you need some more space wait till the doors are closed and find some more free space.
Put you coat or jacket ON your luggage, not beside. Otherwise you can take your neighbor’s place.
Take your seat according to your ticket. You can change your place if you see that all the passengers are in and there are some free seats.
If you travel alone, and somebody asks you to change places - to join their family or friends - do it. Remember, you will probably ask someone to do the same one day.
The closed space of a plane makes people irritable. It can be any action that they themselves don’t do - whether you listen to your mp3 walkman, working with notebook computer or writing any documents. Sometimes this leads to a scandal.
Don’t fold the back of your seat in full. Though sometimes it’s a good way to struggle with noisy kids behind.
Many passengers are used to take off their shoes during flight - and people around endure gas attack. Respect your neighbors - take light slippers with you.
Don’t bother people with chatter.
Don’t grab the back of a front seat. You may wake a person who was trying to get asleep for a long time.
When you are deep in thoughts, you may kick the front seat. That thing strongly irritates any person. Keep an eye to your limbs!
Don’t stay in the gangway talking to your friends.
Take care with your food and drink. If you stained your neighbor’s suit offer to pay for cleaning.
Toilet is not a boudoir or a checkroom. Be quick.
Know when to stop with alcohol. Its effect increases in the height.
A plane is not your office. Don’t put your papers around as if it was your desk.
Open luggage compartment carefully. The bags can move during flight and you may not manage to catch them.
Don’t linger at the exit looking for people meeting. Clear out the way for other passengers.
