A bus driver has died after his vehicle was involved in a head-on crash with a coach. Residents rushed to the scene of the collision in Chester-le-Street, County Durham. But they were unable to save the life of the driver.
A single-decker bus was travelling downhill while the coach was travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the coach said to be suffering from critical head injuries as well as chest and leg injuries; the other injured were passengers of the bus – two women of 73 and 50 years old and a 73-year old man.
